About Coal Harbour

Coal Harbour has a rich history. It was once an army base, a coal mine, and one of the last whaling stations in North America. Originally named for coal and now famous for fishing, Coal Harbour is a small community of approximately 200 residents. It is a scenic 15-minute drive on a paved road from Port Hardy, the largest community on Northern Vancouver Island.

The raw coastline, abundant rainforest, and proximity to the wild Pacific Ocean, make Coal Harbour an ideal place to call home.
